Волнение в Сокольском уезде

Любопытно по своему происхождению и целям волнение в Сокольском уезде. Началось оно 29 июня 1648 г. во время похода сокольских драгун к Козлову. Сокольские драгуны проявили солидарность с восставшими козловцами. Драгуны стали требовать от воеводы И. Ртищева, чтобы тот по­казал им «государеву грамоту» о походе на Козлов, но у И. Ртищева такой грамоты не было. Сокольские драгуны совсем недавно, по царским указам 1647 и 1648 гг. освобо­дились от крепостной зависимости и верили в добрые наме­рения царя. Считая, что воевода скрывает от них царские грамоты, драгуны и по возвращении в Сокольск продолжали «невежливо» требовать показа им грамот. 1-го июля воево­да «побежал к себе на двор», а драгуны увели с собой подь­ячего приказной избы. 3-го июля драгуны, вооруженные пи­щалями и рогатинами (более 300 человек), собрали в Со-кольске «крут» и звали на него воеводу, но тот вместе с на­чальными людьми заперся в башне. В окрестных селах дра­гуны по казацкому обычаю также «збирали круги». В селе Ильином Городище поп Иван от имени всех сокольских драгун написал жалобу на воеводу. Драгун П. Овчинников «с мирскою челобитною» поехал в Москву. Руководителями вол­нений в Сокольском уезде были драгуны Гур Золотарев, Фе­дор Мозолевский, Сергей Богомолов. Сокольский воевода фактически сидел в осаде с 3-го по 27-е июля 1648 г., его распоряжения не выполнялись.
Правительство поручило подавить волнение в Сокольске воеводе г. Доброго И. Кайсарову. Сокольские драгуны не ока­зали ему сопротивления; видимо, магическое действие на них оказало наличие у И.  Кайсарова  грамоты,  в  которой  царь требовал   от  добровского  воеводы   «переимать»   организато­ров сокольских волнений.  И.  Кайсаров  захватил  в  Соколь­ске  Г.  Золотарева  и  еще  девять  драгун  и  заключил  их  в тюрьму в г. Добром. Характерно, что расследование событий в Сокольском уезде  не  выявило  ни одного факта  грабежа, драгуны принимали  решения «всем  миром», старались дей­ствовать по закону. После четырехмесячного заключения сокольские драгуны были выпущены из тюрьмы, «для того, что убийственное дело до них не дошло».
