Восстание в Козлове

Козловский воевода Р. Боборыкин издевался над мелкими служилыми людьми, использовал их труд в своем хозяйстве, что вызвало к нему ненависть жителей города. Козловцы неоднократно посылали в Москву жалобы на воеводу. Вос­стание в Козлове началось 11 июня 1648 г. Поводом явилось известие о московском восстании, которое привезли в Козлов казак С. Кобузев, стрельцы Г. Самандаков и О. Дружинин.
В восстании участвовали приборные служилые люди и часть детей боярских. Восставший народ разбил дворы и лавки местных богачей. Воевода Р. Боборыкин бежал в Ряжск.
На следующий день—12 июня — восстание перекинулось в «пригород» Козлова — Челновой острожек, населенный стрельцами. Стрельцы Челнового острожка прежде участво­вали в составлении жалобы на воеводу Р. Боборыкина. И здесь среди гарнизона были богачи («прожиточные стрель­цы»), вызывавшие ненависть других жителей острожка. По­водом к выступлению челновцев явился приезд стрельца Г. Бекетова, сообщившего о событиях в Козлове. Стрельцы Чел нового острожка убили богатого стрельца Т. Чубулова «за то, что он мир выел», избили своих начальников (стрелецкого голову, пятидесятников). На этом волнения в Челновом острожке прекратились.
Козловский воевода Р. Боборыкин попытался подавить восстание в Козлове с помощью воевод соседних городов на Белгородской черте — Сокольска и Доброго. Служилые лю­ди этих городов, обманутые воеводами, подошли 29 июня к Козлову, но затем, узнав, в чем дело, отказались выступать против своих товарищей. Попытка Боборыкина использовать сокольских и добровских драгун, чтобы Козлов «взятьем взять», не удалась. Р. Боборыкин вторично бежал.
Правительство называло восстание в Козлове «мирским мятежом», имея в виду единодушное выступление населе­ния против воеводы. Восстание было подавлено в начале июля прибывшими сюда московскими стрельцами во главе с вэсво.чои В. Волконским. Приборные служилые люди — руководители Козловского восстания С. Кобузев, Г. Самандаког. и О. Дружинин были казнены, сын боярский Ю. Тол­мачев, которого документы называют также в числе руково­дителей,— бит кнутом. Наказание кнутом правительство ре­шило применить и по отношению к десяти стрельцам Челно­вого острожка (инициатор волнений стрелец Г. Бекетов бе­жал, найти его так и не удалось).
