Белгородская черта во время Русско-Польской войны за Украину

В начале мы уже подчеркивали тесную, диалек­тическую взаимосвязь строительства Белгородской черты со многими событиями и процессами, проте­кавшими в России и за ее пределами в XVII в. Осо­бенно заметно влияние Белгородской черты на воен­ные и внешнеполитические успехи, достигнутые Рос­сией на южном направлении. Существование мощной укрепленной линии на юге Рус­ского государства сыграло немалую роль в ходе русско-поль­ской войны 1654—1667 гг., способствовало закреплению за Россией левобережной Украины. Строительство укреплении Белгородской черты в основном закончилось в 1653 г. К это­му же году относится официальное решение Земского собора о принятии Украины в состав Русского государства. Такое совпадение дат — не простая случайность. В исторических условиях XVII в. воссоединение Украины с Россией должно было неизбежно вызвать русско-польскую войну, и это хо­рошо понимало русское правительство. В плане подготовки России к новой войне с Польшей сооружение Белгородской черты было одним из важнейших мероприятий.

Подготовка татарами большого набега

Первый этап войны между Россией и Речью Посполитой (1654—1656 гг.) ознаменовался, как известно, большими успехами русской армии на Украине, в Белоруссии, в Литве. Русское правительство не исключало тогда возможности круп­ного вторжения татар в Россию. Сведения о подготовке татарами большого набега дохо­дили в 1654 г. до Москвы по различным каналам. Одной из причин того, что набег ни в 1654 г., ни в 1655 г. так и не со­стоялся, было существование укреплений Белгородской чер­ты. Крымские татары направлялись всегда в набег с целью грабежа и захвата пленных, их не привлекала перспектива длительных боев с защитниками черты.
В конце 50-х годов XVII в. международная обстановка на западных и южных рубежах России осложнилась. В войне со Швецией России не удалось вернуть земли у Финского залива и получить выход к Балтийскому морю. В 1658 г. после двухлетнего перемирия возобновилась война с Польшей. Тяжелым ударом для России была измена украинского гет­мана И. Выговского. В сентябре 1658 г. вопреки воле украин­ского народа И. Выговский подписал Гадячский договор о передаче Украины панской Польше. Польское правительство ценой уступок украинской шляхте и казацкой старшине стре­милось удержать Украину в составе Речи Посполитой. Одно­временно И. Выговский заключил союз с татарами и призвал на Украину крымского хана. Мухаммед-Гирея. 28 июня 1659г. русские войска потерпели поражение от объединенных сил И. Выговского и крымского хана под Конотопом. Для татар открылся путь в Россию в обход укреплений Белгородской черты, и Мухаммед-Гирей не преминул воспользоваться слу­чаем.

Попытки татар проникнуть в глубь России

Попытки же татар проникнуть в глубь России непосред­ственно через Белгородскую черту неизменно кончались про­валом, несмотря на отвлечение с черты в связи с русско-польской войной значительной части боевых сил. В лучшем случае татарам удавалось грабить русские села и деревни, расположенные у самой Белгородской черты.
Вот некоторые примеры 1 сентября 1658 г несколько сот татар пытались прорваться в Воронежский уезд по мосту через р. Усмань у с. Усмань-Собакина. Усманские атаманы совместно с драгунами Орлова-городка отбили татар. Затем у с. Гололобова татар отразили крестьяне. Этот же татарский отряд пробовал переправиться через р. Воронеж, южнее го­рода, но был задержан и здесь. Воронежский гарнизон был очень ослаблен, почти все служилые люди ушли в Белгород, поэтому 7 сентября татарам все же удалось разломать на­долбы восточнее г. Воронежа и преодолеть укрепления Бел­городской черты. Татары ворвались в с. Репное и дер. При­дачу в окрестностях Воронежа, но, встретив упорное сопротив­ление населения, быстро ушли назад, в степь, «тем же про­ломным местом». В полон они увели 21 человека. В 1659 г. о постоянных татарских «приходах» к черте сообщают вое­воды Усмани, Орлова. 8 августа 1660 г. произошел ожесто­ченный бой на земляном валу севернее г. Усмани между усманскими служилыми людьми и 300 татарами. Обе сторо­ны понесли потери, нападение татар было отражено.

Белгородская черта в период резкого обострения Русско - Турецких отношении в 70Х годах XVII в.

Власть турецкого султана распространялась во второй половине XVII в. на огромные территории в передней Азии, северной Африке, юго-восточной Европе. Османская империя уже прошла через зенит своего могущества. По уровню об­щественного развития феодальная Турция стояла ниже госу­дарств центральной и восточной Европы. Но во время правления великих визирей отца и сына Кёпрюлю, в 50—70-х годах XVII в., заметно некоторое укрепление турецкого госу­дарственного аппарата и вооруженных сил. Мехмед-паша Кёпрюлю возглавлял турецкое правительство в 1656—1662 гг., Фазыл Ахмед-паша Кёпрюлю — в 1662—1676 гг. Правитель­ство Кёпрюлю сумело задержать упадок турецкого могуще­ства. Оба Кёпрюлю считали, что благополучие государства возможно только при успешной завоевательной войне. Ту­рецкое наступление в это время направляется против Авст­рии, Польши, России.

Белгородская черта надежный заслон страны

В 1674—1676 гг. до официального начала русско-турецкой войны, а затем и в годы войны (1676—1681) Белгородская черта являлась надежным заслоном страны. К укреплениям восточной половины Белгородской черты постоянно подхо­дили мелкие и крупные татарские отряды, бои на черте шли почти беспрерывно. Кроме татар, в нападениях на Белгород­скую черту участвовали и калмыки, изменившие России в на­чале 1674 г. Так, в течение июля, августа и сентября 1674 г. появление отрядов татар и калмыков было отмечено у Нежегольского, Новооскольского, Верхососенского, Ольшанского, Острогожского, Коротоякского, Костенского, Воронежского, Орловского, Усманского, Сокольского участков Белгородской черты. В 1675 г. татары, переправившись через р. Усмань на Орловском участке Белгородской черты, преодолели укрепления на западном берегу реки, осаждали Хреновской острожек, проникли в Воронежский уезд. Татарские отря­ды не раз проходили через «проломное место» в земляном ва­лу восточнее Нового Оскола, причем всегда спешили уйти. В 1676 г. на Козловском участке Белгородской черты татары раскопали земляной вал у Вельского городка, прорвались за черту, но козловцы всех татар «из черты за вал выбили», освободили пленных, отбили скот. В другом месте отряд кал­мыков, проскочивший ночью через вал, не мог вернуться с захваченным  скотом  в  степь,  козловцы  у  вала,  «с  русской столоны», окружили и разгромили калмыков.

Строительство укреплений от Усерда к Валуйкам

Строительство укреплений  от  Усерда  к  Валуйкам  нача­лось осенью 1679 г.. Основные работы на новой черте про­ведены были летом 1680 г. Общее руководство исходило, как и при строительстве Белгородской черты, от Разрядного при­каза. Строили  Изюмскую черту служилые люди  Белгородского полка, в работах участвовало более 30 тысяч человек. Вся новая черта проходила    по    территории Белгородского разряда, поэтому воевода  Белгородского полка  П.  В.  Ше­реметев  считался   главным  руководителем   работ.   Он   непо­средственно ведал участком создаваемой черты от Усерда до Валуек. Два помощника П. В. Шереметева — «товарищи вое­воды» А.  С. Опухтин и генерал  Г. И.  Косагов руководили строительством южной и западной частей Изюмской черты: первый — участком от Валуек до Царева-Борисова, второй — участком от Царева-Борисова до р. Коломака. К осени 1680г. черта была в основном готова. В следующем 1681 г. на чер­те были построены лишь некоторые новые города-крепости, в частности, Изюм, ставший впоследствии центром черты (он располагался примерно в середине новой черты, на ост­рие угла, обращенном к югу), и Коломак (на западном флан­ге черты).

Наличие Белгородской черты содействовало объединению русского и украинского народов в едином государстве

К 80-м годам XVII в. борьба России с Крымским ханст­вом далеко не была закончена. Впереди еще были неудач­ные Крымские походы, предпринятые правительством ца­ревны Софьи в 1687 и 1689 гг., Азовские походы Петра I. Но основа будущего окончательного успеха России в борь­бе с Крымским ханством была заложена в 40—70-х годах XVII в. В 30-х годах XVII в., когда начала создаваться Бел­городская черта, русское население отражало грабительские набеги татар недалеко от Оки. За 40—50 лет район рус­ско-татарских столкновений отодвинулся к югу на сотни километров. Одним из важнейших факторов, обеспечивших России успешное победоносное отражение турецко-татар­ской агрессии с юга, было сооружение Белгородской черты.
Наличие Белгородской черты содействовало объединению русского и украинского народов в едином государстве, по­могло успеху России в трудной войне с Польшей за Украину.

Возведение 800-километровой Белгородской черты было большим событием в истории России XVII в. Труд многих тысяч русских людей, построивших замечательное для своего времени инженерное сооружение — Белгородскую черту, не пропал даром. Белгородская черта заслонила южные и центральные области России от грабительских набегов крымских татар, дала возможность освоить обширные территории плодородных земель, способствовала укреплению военного и экономического могущества России.
В литературе Белгородская черта обычно называлась оборонительной линией. Нам кажется, что строительство Белгородской черты  было не столько оборонительным  мероприя­тием, сколько своеобразной формой наступления  России  на татар, на Крымское ханство. В исторических условиях XVII и эта форма борьбы русского народа против татарской агрес­сии оказалась весьма эффективной.
Характерно, что далеко не всегда инициатива в созда­нии укрепленных районов — участков возникавшей Белгородской черты исходила от правительства или представителей местной власти — воевод. Козловский и усманский земляные валы были насыпаны по предложению мелких служилых лю­дей— знатоков местности, непосредственно заинтересованных в отражении татарских набегов. Умный и трудолюбивый на род находил лучшие способы борьбы с грабителями - татарами и умело применял их на практике.
