Белгородская черта во время Русско-Польской войны за Украину

В начале мы уже подчеркивали тесную, диалек­тическую взаимосвязь строительства Белгородской черты со многими событиями и процессами, проте­кавшими в России и за ее пределами в XVII в. Осо­бенно заметно влияние Белгородской черты на воен­ные и внешнеполитические успехи, достигнутые Рос­сией на южном направлении. Существование мощной укрепленной линии на юге Рус­ского государства сыграло немалую роль в ходе русско-поль­ской войны 1654—1667 гг., способствовало закреплению за Россией левобережной Украины. Строительство укреплении Белгородской черты в основном закончилось в 1653 г. К это­му же году относится официальное решение Земского собора о принятии Украины в состав Русского государства. Такое совпадение дат — не простая случайность. В исторических условиях XVII в. воссоединение Украины с Россией должно было неизбежно вызвать русско-польскую войну, и это хо­рошо понимало русское правительство. В плане подготовки России к новой войне с Польшей сооружение Белгородской черты было одним из важнейших мероприятий.
Наличие укрепленного южного фланга у русских войск, действовавших на Украине и в Белоруссии, было большим стратегическим преимуществом России в войне с Польшей. Крымские татары пытались использовать новое столкновение России и Польши в своих корыстных целях. Но теперь, в от­личие от 30-х годов, поперек татарских степных дорог — Муравской, Изюмской, Кальмиусской, Ногайской встали укреп­ления Белгородской черты. Для того, чтобы «проломить» черту ударом в лоб, Крымскому ханству требовались крупные силы. К тому же татары не могли не понимать, что даже в случае успешного прорыва их через Белгородскую черту рус­ские войска могут отрезать им у черты обратный путь. Проч­ность Белгородской черты подтверждали многочисленные столкновения небольших татарских отрядов с русскими гар­низонами и населением на черте. Все это побуждало татар искать для вторжения в Россию в 50—60-х годах XVII в. другой, более длинный, обходный путь.
К сожалению, такой путь нашелся. После воссоединения Украины с Россией у татар появилась возможность обойти укрепления Белгородской черты с запада, не выходя за пределы Русского государства. В 30—40-х годах XVII в. запад­ный обходный путь татарам невыгодно было использовать для вторжения в Россию, во-первых, потому, что он означал перенесение войны на территорию польско-литовского госу­дарства и весьма опасное для татар объединение в борьбе с Крымским ханством военных сил России и Польши; во-вторых, потому, что не были закрыты еще более короткие, прямые пути. Во время русско-польской войны 1654—1667 гг крымские татары не раз пытались вторгнуться в Россию, обойдя Белгородскую черту с запада; иногда, как мы уви-1им дальше, им это удавалось. Кстати, сам факт поисков татарами обходных путей являлся косвенным признанием ими прочности Белгородской черты.
