Халанский Михаил Георгиевич

Халанский Михаил Георгиевич (1857—1910) — фи­лолог-фольклорист и историк литературы. Родился в с. Расховец Щигровского уезДа Курской губернии О своих предках в автобиографии сообщал: «...из мало-российского рода, переселившегося из Заднепровья в XVII веке в Оскольский край и получившего от Мос­ковского правительства угодья по реке Халани (откуда происходит и самая фамилия)». Начальное образование получил в Курском уездном училище; в 1873—1877 гг. учился в Белгородской семинарии; в 1881 г. окончил историко-филологический факультет Харьковского уни­верситета.
Был учителем русского языка в Белгородской муж­ской гимназии и одновременно «исполнял должность классного наставника», а чуть позже еще и преподавал русскую литературу в Белгородской женской гимназии. В эти годы в Белгороде работал над диссертаций на степень магистра русской    словесности — «Великорус­ские былины Киевского цикла».
С 1892 г. — экстраординарный, с 1899 г. — ординар­ный профессор Харьковского университета, с 1908 г. — член-корреспондент Российской академии наук. С 1899 г. до конца жизни читал курс по истории русского языка и литературы в Харьковском университете. Умер в Харь­кове. Перечень печатных работ М. Халанского превы­шает полсотни названий. Среди них; «Южнославянские сказания о Кралевиче Марке в связи с произведениями русского былевого эпоса» (т. 1—4), «К истории поэти­ческих сказаний об Олеге Вещем», «Русские народные песни, записанные в Щигровском уезде», «Особенности языка актов Оскольского края», «Народные говоры Курской губернии», «Образцы народного говора южной части Курской губ. и северной — Харьковской», «О вли­янии В. Л. Пушкина на поэтическое творчество А. С. Пушкина», «Пушкин и г-жа Ризнич».
