Васильченко Александр Григорьевич

Васильченко Александр Григорьевич — советский летчик-испытатель. Родился в 1911 г. в семье крестья­нина с. Старая Безгинка Новооскольского района. В 1930-е гг., после окончания Харьковской летной шко­лы, летал на боевых самолетах различных типов. За от­вагу, проявленную на фронтах Великой Отечественной, награжден орденами Ленина, Отечественной войны 1-й степени, Красной Звезды и медалями. В 1943 г. стал летчиком-испытателем. До последних месяцев жизни А. Васильченко испытывал новые виды самолетов: от У-2 до турбореактивных гигантов. В 1957 г. за мужест­во, проявленное при испытании новой авиационной тех­ники, полковнику Васильченко было присвоено звание Героя Советского Союза, в 1960 г. он был удостоен зва­ния заслуженного летчика-испытателя СССР.
Умер А. Г. Васильченко 8 ноября 1960 г. Его имя присвоено одному из геологических образований на не­видимой для нас стороне Луны, сфотографированной спутником «Зонд-111».
