Мосьпанов Илья Петрович

Мосьпанов Илья Петрович — летчик, Герой Совет­ского Союза. Родился в 1913 г. в крестьянской семье на х. Зубовка Новооскольского района. Учился в Зубов­ской начальной школе, потом — в Новооскольской се­милетке. В Новом Осколе занимался в авиамодельном кружке, позже, работая на заводе «Ростсельмаш», по­ступил в аэроклуб. В сентябре 1935 г. И. Мосьпанова призвали в Красную Армию. Он стал военным летчиком.
За год боев с немецко-фашистскими захватчиками отважный пилот на Юго-Западном, Южном и Северо-Кавказском фронтах сбил 21 самолет, уничтожил; 33 танка, 140 автомашин и 13 полевых орудий. Его вы­сокое летное мастерство и бесстрашие были отмечены орденом Ленина и двумя орденами Красного Знамени.
Погиб 25 июня 1942 г. Звание Героя Советского Со­юза присвоено посмертно. По просьбе земляков героя Президиум Верховного Совета РСФСР переименовал х. Зубовку в Мосьпанов. В 1961 г. там был сооружен памятник герою.
