Раевский Владимир Федосеевич

Раевский Владимир Федосеевич — декабрист, поэт и публицист. Родился 28 марта (8 апреля) 1795 г. в с. Хворостянка Старооскольского уезда (ныне в Губкинском районе) в дворянской семье. Образование получил в Московском университетском пансионе и во 2-м кадет­ском корпусе в Петербурге (здесь завязалась его дружба с будущим декабристом Г. С. Батеньковым). Семнадца­тилетним прапорщиком артиллерийской бригады В. Раевский принял участие в Отечественной войне 1812 г. Доблесть, проявленная им 26 августа под Бородино, была отмечена золотой шпагой с надписью «За храбрость».
За участие в сражении под Вязьмой Произведен в под­поручики, а спустя несколько месяцев — в поручики. В 25 лет стал майором. Выйдя в 1817 г. в отставку, воз­вратился в Хворостянку. В родном селе пишет стихи на антикрепостнические статьи «О рабстве крестьян и не­обходимости скорого преобразования в России» и «О» солдате».
Возвратившись на военную службу, в 1818 г. (По-другим свидетельствам, в 1820-м) вступает в тайное об­щество и вскоре становится одним из активнейших, дея­телей «Союза благоденствия» и Южного общества де­кабристов. В. Ф. Раевский был другом Пушкина, В 1822 г. арестован в Кишиневе по обвинению в рево­люционной агитации среди солдат и юнкеров. Шесть лет провел в крепостных застенках, затем сослан в Сибирь. До конца жизни оставался верен идеалам сво­боды.
Наиболее значительные художественные произведе­ния написаны Раевским до ареста и в заточении — в Тираспольской крепости.
Протест против произвола и насилия сочетается в его стихах с призывом к борьбе.
В 1858 г. — после амнистии — Раевский совершил путешествие из Сибири в Европейскую Россию: побывал в Москве, Петербурге, лето провел в Хворостянке.
Умер 8 (20) июля 1872 г. в дер. Малышевке и был похоронен в соседнем с. Олонки Иркутской губер­нии.
На родине «первого декабриста» в 1972 г. на доме, в котором В. Ф. Раевский не раз бывал у своего двою­родного брата, установлена мемориальная доска. В г. Губкине имя Раевского носит одна из улиц.
