Пульман Иван Алоизович

Пульман Иван Алоизович — селекционер и метеоро­лог, доктор сельскохозяйственных наук, организатор первой на белгородской земле метеостанции и Богородицкого опытного поля.
Родился в 1854 г. в с. Богородицкое-Фенино (ныне в Губкинском районе) в семье мелкопоместного землевла­дельца. В 1872 г. окончил Корочанскую гимназию. В 1881 г. организовал на принадлежавшей ему земле метеостанцию и более полувека, почти безвыездно про­живая в родном селе, вел климатические исследования района. В 1883 г. создал опытное поле, на котором прово­дил селекционные исследования и изыскания лучших приемов полеводства. В 1900 г. опытное поле и метео­станция были объединены в комплекс — Богородицкое опытное поле.
Вскоре после Великой Октябрьской социалистической революции территория Богородицкого опытного поля (И. А. Пульман оставался его заведующим до 1934 г.) была увеличена в три раза. Всю свою долгую жизнь ученый вел здесь плодотворные исследования, им был создан ряд новых сортов гречихи, пшеницы, ржи, чече­вицы, клевера, вики. В 1935 г. И. А. Пульману была присвоена ученая степень доктора сельскохозяйственных наук. В начале XX в. на Богородицком опытном поле изучал практический опыт по агрономии будущий ака­демик Дмитрий Николаевич Прянишников.
И. А. Пульман умер в 1938 г., похоронен в родном селе. В 1983 г. на одном из зданий Богородицкого опыт­ного поля установлена мемориальная доска с барелье­фом ученого.
