Калинин Михаил Иванович

Калинин Михаил Иванович (1875—1946 гг.) — пар­тийный и государственный деятель, в 1919—1946 гг. воз­главлял высшие государственные органы РСФСР и СССР — ВЦИК, ЦИК СССР, Президиум Верховного Совета СССР.
Весной 1919 г. Калинин был назначен руководителем агитационно-инструкторского поезда «Октябрьская ре­волюция». Коллектив агитпоезда ставил перед собой задачи мобилизации трудящихся на борьбу с врагами ре­волюции, помощи местным органам Советской власти и партийным организациям. Восьмой рейс агитпоезда «Ок­тябрьская революция» проходил 1—26 марта 1920 г. Поезд направился из Москвы на Украину и Дон через Курск—Белгород.
Утром 6 марта 1920 г. агитпоезд прибыл на ст. Бел­город.
В этот день М. И. Калинин выступил на митинге рабочих, мастеровых и служащих Белгородского узла Южной железной дороги. Участники митинга приняли резолюцию, в которой обязались «честным и упорным трудом поставить на ноги железнодорожный транспорт...». В тот же день Калинин выступил перед белгородцами в городском театре (теперь в этом здании на проспекте Ленина — художественный музей).
Второй раз М. И. Калинин побывал на ст. Белгород весной 1923 г. проездом на юг. Белгородская газета «Тру­довой день» сообщала: «В четверг, 8 марта через Белго­род в поезде № 5 проследовали председатель Всероссий­ского Центрального Исполнительного Комитета т. Кали­нин, наркомздрав т Семашко и секретарь ЦК РКП т. Куйбышев.
Товарищи Калинин, Семашко и Куйбышев проехали на юг в Грузинскую и Азербайджанскую Советские Рес­публики для ознакомления с положением дел на местах и проведения партконференции».
