Ховрин Николай Александрович

Ховрин Николай Александрович (1891 —1972 гг.) — один из руководителей моряков Балтийского флота в Великой Октябрьской социалистической революции, член Коммунистической партии с 1915 г., активный участник гражданской войны. В ноябре 1917 г. командовал Петро­градским сводным отрядом, который прибыл в Белго­род для отпора белогвардейским ударным батальо­нам. Начальником штаба и комиссаром отряда 'были члены Петроградского Совета и Военно-революционного комитета А. Ф. Ильин-Женевский и И. П. Павлуновский, адъютантом штаба, а фактически заме­стителем командира отряда — А. Г. Жзлезняков.
Вместе с другими революционными силами балтийцы почти две недели вели под Белгородом бои с контррево­люционными батальонами. О тех героических днях Ховрин рассказал в своих воспоминаниях.

Хотмыжск — в древности — один из городов Киев­ской Руси, был разрушен кочевниками в начале 1500-х гг., в 1600-е гг. — город-крепость Белгородской чер­ты. В конце 1639 — первой половине 1640 г. по цар­скому указу на Хотмыжском городище, заброшенном славянском поселении, были проведены подготовитель­ные работы. 17 мая 1640 г. начали закЛадку города-кре­пости, срублен он был за 43 дня. Хотмыжск стал одной из самых надежных крепостей оборонительной черты. Уже в марте 1641 г. ее гарнизон насчитывал 753 воина.
С прекращением татарских набегов Хотмыжск утра­тил свое значение. В 1660-е гг. число служилых людей в нем сократилось вдвое. Город был упразднен, и Хот­мыжск превратился в село, которое существует и поны­не в Борисовском районе. Летом 1983 г. на Хотмыжском городище провела раскопки археологическая экспеди­ция студентов Белгородского пединститута.
