Ротмистров Павел Алексеевич

Ротмистров Павел Алексеевич (1901 —1982 гг.) — советский военачальник, Главный маршал бронетанко­вых войск (1962 г.), Герой Советского Союза (1965 г.).
Во время Курской битвы 5-я гвардейская танковая армия, которой командовал Ротмистров, уча­ствовала в Прохоровском встречном танковом сражении и одержала одну из решающих побед. В книгах и стать­ях Ротмистрова, вышедших в послевоенные годы, рас­сказывается о битве на Огненной дуге, о Прохоровском сражении. В феврале 1971 г. маршал приезжал в область для участия в празднике, посвященном подви­гу советского народа в Великой Отечественной войне» Тогда же стал почетным гражданином Прохоровки В экспозиции Прохоровского музея революционной, бое­вой и трудовой славы — ордена и медали маршала, его личные вещи, подаренные Ротмистровым и его семьей.. По просьбе редакции областной газеты написал и опуб­ликовал в «Белгородской правде» в разные годы три статьи.
